About Anchor CBT Children’s Therapy

Anchor CBT Children Services provides high-quality, evidence-based therapy for children and young people aged 8–25 across Greater Manchester and Cheshire.

Hello and welcome to Anchor CBT–
I am so pleased you landed here!

My name is Katie and I am an accredited CBT therapist and supervisor and also an accredited DBT therapist. I have worked in adult mental health services for 20 years and have spent the last 10 years working for children’s mental health services within the NHS where I still work part time.

Life can be both wonderful and challenging for all of us, including children and young people. Navigating our way through family, school, and friendships, can be tricky. Along with other unexpected difficulties, such as health problems, trauma, and bereavement, life can begin to feel overwhelming. Anxiety and depression is increasingly common for children and young people and having timely and effective support can make all the difference.

I love working with children and young people to support them to manage their own mental health. CBT is a proven evidence-based therapy that can support people experiencing a whole range of anxiety difficulties and depression. DBT is a therapy that teaches emotion regulation skills, as well as interpersonal skills and mindfulness.

I live in South Manchester with my family and two cheeky cats. When I am not working I love to go for walks, drink coffee, and play games (the board variety!). My Christian faith is central to who I am and shapes how I spend my time and energy. I love to work with people from all faiths and also none. However, if you are looking for a therapist who loves to integrate psychological practice with Biblical faith, then please do reach out! I can offer therapy through the lens of faith and this is something I love to do.

Anchor CBT Children Services is committed to ethical practice, clinical excellence, and ongoing professional development.
